Hi beautiful brides-to-be,

I just wanted to introduce myself, my name’s Laura and I’ve just started working at The Powder Room as one of the Wedding co-ordinators, I’m also a makeup artist…and coming up in March, I too, will be walking down the aisle…makes me get goosebumps just thinking about it!!!!!!

It’s such a crazy, emotional and exciting time in our lives and if you’re anything like me, you’ll want your day to be perfect!! When I’m looking at vendors for my wedding I’m always looking to see if they actually get as excited and caught up in the joy of my wedding as I do. My best experiences are with the people that actually share my joy. I’m getting so excited about finding the perfect flower or the right fabric for my dress, trivial little things that just mean so much to me now! One of the things that I LOVE is how the girls at The Powder Room are just so passionate about weddings, they just adore us brides! They genuinely care, which I’m finding, is quite hard to come by. You should see the cupcakes they provide at their Cupcake Consultations or this delicious Turkish Iced Rose Tea, it makes my mouth water just thinking about them!

When I’m talking to people that are going to help out with my wedding, for some reason, I always worry about consistency. I don’t want to be explaining myself, and what I want, over and over again. That’s one of the awesome things about The Powder Room, you have the same stylist for your trial and your wedding day. It makes me feel so at ease knowing that I’m going to have the same amazing stylist who knows my face and hair from my trial to do the same breathtaking job at my wedding. Most days are bad hair days for me…so having someone who knows how to tame my hair and make it look beautiful really puts me at ease. I would just like to look like a better version of me!! I still want my fiance to recognise me when I walk down the aisle.

Also…The Powder Room are amazing to talk to, trust me, I’ve been picking their brains about all things wedding! They’re just a wealth of knowledge and always happy to have a chat. They actually have time to talk to us rather than sounding like they are in a hurry. I can understand that there are a lot of wedding suppliers out there that are owner operators, but it’s nice to know that I can contact the girls on phone, email or come in to see them at the Powder Room Boutique Studio at New Farm…. Anyway, as a bride-to-be, I can wholeheartedly recommend that you try The Powder Room experience, it really is an experience that you shouldn’t miss out on!!

What a gorgeous bride and stunning bridal party!

Jasmine was pampered by The Powder Room girls on 16th September and we think she couldn’t have looked more beautiful!

We absolutely loooove the bridesmaids dresses with the cute ruffles and adore the colour too.

Kim’s makeup, artist Mario Dedivanovic explains in his own words how he created Kim’s perfect princess look on the day.

“She wanted to look like the most polished and beautiful version of herself,” he says. Preparation was with moisturiser by La Mer and By Terry Touche Veloutee concealer under her eyes, giving her a fresh-faced look. Ensuring things stayed put during the long day, Dedivanovic set her makeup with Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish loose powder.

When it came to highlighting Kardashian’s stunning features — especially the eyes — “I used Lancôme 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Frenzy,” he explains. “I swept the golden shade all over lid, the darkest shade along her crease and the lightest shade I used on the brow bone to highlight. I swept the golden colors along Kim’s lower lash line for a super-soft smoky look.” And to give her lashes beautiful length and volume, “I applied two coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara in So Black,” he explains.

To warm Kardashian’s skin and contour her cheeks, Dedivanovic relied on Guerlain Teracotta bronzing powder. “I brushed a bit all along the hairline and along the jaw line,” he says. “To chisel her cheeks, I swept it along the hollows of her cheeks.” Finishing off the look, he defined Kardashian’s voluminous lips using YSL Dessin des Levres lip liner in Nude Beige and Lancôme’s L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Sand (a sheer peachy hue), adding a final touch of shine with Lancôme La Laque Fever lip gloss in Ravishing Coral.

But his job wasn’t done yet. The secret to her stunning shine-free skin throughout the day and night? “Tatcha Blotting Papers,” Dedivanovic reveals. And since Kardashian changed gowns throughout the evening, Dedivanovic had to keep his work classic. “The look had to work with any dress she chose,” he shares, “so we kept the makeup consistent through out the whole day and into the evening.”

It is rumoured that the larger-than-life Kim Kardashian is having not one but TWO perfect wedding dresses designed by the amazing Vera Wang. She has met with the designer in New York and again in LA. Vera Wang was also the designer for Kim’s sister Khloe’s dress for her wedding to Lamar Odom in 2009 so they are already well known to each other. Khloe has said of the designer working with her sister – ‘I love her, and I feel like when you think of weddings, you think of Vera Wang. I think it would be a perfect fit”, according to the Daily Mail.

While Kim is sweating it out in the gym with her TWO personals trainers to fit into her TWO gorgeous dresses, let’s take a moment to imagine what hair and makeup look she may choose for her big day.

Amy was married at Little White Wedding Church on Friday 24th September.  Amy’a reception was then held at The House of Laurels.  Judith and Mai looked after Amy’s beautiful hair and make up.  It’s so exciting when you see it all come together and and we know you will all agree with us, how Ammmazing Amy looked.  Amy’s hair was a little “Taylor Swift” inspired, very soft and romantic, soft smokey eyes We really loved Amy’s feather and and jewel fascinator and her Chelsea De Luca earrings.  

Everything was thought of in every way.  Amy’s dress with the vintage inspired lace around the neckline, and the gorgeous brooch on the dress, even Amy’s shoes with the bow and pearl detail.

Paula, Jacqueline, Kayla and kate all looked after Sally’s Wedding party and it was wonderful to see this amazing video that Net Productions put together for Sally’s special day, I loved Sally’s speech, it was so beautiful, brought a tear to my eye…..Samantha you guys from Net Productions are the best, love your work!

Sally’s Wedding was at the beautiful Customs’ House.

It was great to see throughout the day that Sally’s hair and make up lasted the distance with all those kisses, cuddles and dancing!

Just wanted to share with you all a sneak peak at one of our new collection’s images photographed last week.


We all love a red head, Katie’s hair is naturally curly and is loosely pinned framing the face with soft curls. The updo, flows softly to one side, but still looks symmetrical with the centre part.


Wedding make up was inspired by Katie’s beautiful porcelain skin, soft apricots and golds and shimmery cheeks, perfect for a Spring Wedding.  Lips lacquered with Powder Room’s “Lips with Love” Only You lipstick and Last Flirt gloss.
