Powder Room Pamper Stand

Every year The Powder Room go to The Stamford Plaza and pamper women attending The Melbourne cup luncheon.  It’s always such a fun day.  We give a prize every year for the best hat in which the lucky winner gets a Powder Pamper Session for themselves and a friend, including a Galvanic Facial treatment, a Makeup Lesson and a Powder Room Lipstick or Gloss.

The girls love seeing all the fashion and love the people watching.  Used on the day in touch up were our very own gorgeous “Powder Room, lips with Love” lipsticks and lipglosses.  The favourite colour of the day was “Spring Fling”, a sheer fruity melon shade, perfect for the season!!

Products can be purchased from our online boutique, why not spoil yourself or a loved one for Christmas!

A Galvanic Facial treatment is a 15 minute miracle! Using currents to enable ingredients to go deep into the skin, it removes impurities, detoxifies skin, refreshes, hydrates and leaves skin radiant whilst working on eliminating lines and wrinkles. “Nicole Kidman won’t go on the red carpet without a Galvanic Facial”. Great if you are feeling tired, puffy or dehydrated and is perfect for preparing your skin for your wedding day!

A Galvanic Facial Treatment can be done the day before your wedding and in the lead up (some of our brides have even purchased a Galvanic Spa for home maintenance). A treatment in our salon costs $45.

Stamford Plaza Bridal Beauty

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Sunday 19th July was The Stamford Plaza’s Wedding open day, showcasing their hotel for prospective Brides. We were invited as a preferred Wedding supplier to come and chat to the newly engaged brides. I’ve never seen so much bling in one room, there were so many gorgeous sparkling engagement rings to look at!

We demonstrated Wedding hair and make up on our beautiful model Geo. Brides fell in love with the romantic finger-waved glossy curls and Geo’s peaches and cream complexion. The citrus gold tones used enhanced Geo’s green eyes and we applied Mac Strobe cream under the foundation to give Geo a more luminescent glow. One of our favourite combinations was used on the lips, Powder Room’s Lips with Love Lipstick in “Dreamy” and Lipgloss in “Pink Champagne”.

Movie star, red carpet curls are really popular with our brides this season. What is also really exciting is brides are being more adventurous, we spoke with one bride who is having a Retro 30′s/40′s style Wedding and the bridesmaids are going to be dressed like the characters from “Chicago” musical!

In the last year a revolution has taken place with hair. Blowdryed ripple waves are the main attraction. Hair has an impeccable quality about it, from the 70′s Jaclyn Smith (Charlies Angles) inspired “set” shiny curls to the luxe, bouncy blowdries (using thickening body building lotions). The new styles have a tactile appeal which is why mousse is a must have at the moment or a thermal setting spray. I sometimes think why are long gorgeous curls always so much a hit? It creates an illusion of being 25 forever, long goddess-like locks embody a sexy carefree spirit.

Celebrity’s that have embraced the “Goddess” looks are:
Blake Lively (Gossip Girl)
Scarlett Johansson
Nicole Kidman
Kate Hudson
