Minyen’s gorgeous side soft low style was created by using a hair padding to support the style.  Bar lash extensions really enhanced Minyen’s gorgeous eyes.  The girls all had airbrush make up to complete the flawless foundation look.  The Powder Room has a studio in New Farm and a Mobile service, as the girls travelled out to Minyen on the day to her home.

One lovely day a gorgeous bride called Aleisha was married on the 26th February ……Weddings really are a Fairytale event and it always excites me to see our Brides on their special day!  Aleisha’s photo’s from her Wedding day took away our breath!  Captured by the talented Jade and Matt at The Arched Window.  Her gorgeous Chantilly lace dress really was a Fab frock! Sarah and Sarah Jane created the gorgeous hair and make up on Aleisha’s Wedding party on the day and the girls had so much fun being apart of Aleisha’s day! We wanted to share with you all what is used to create these beautiful shaped Wedding hairstyles.  Every girls has to cheat a little!  Using hair paddings and hairpieces can really help in creating the perfect look.  Paddings are used to create a beautiful shape and also to give support, particularly if you are having a heavier veil.  Hairpieces are wonderful if you don’t have quite enough hair to wrap around the bottom of the mould.  At the Powder Room we allow double the time on your Wedding trial day to chat through your look ideas and work out the best way for you to create that amazing Wedding day look!

Jody and Sarah Jane looked after Emily’s Wedding yesterday at Stradbroke Island and the girls really enjoyed the day.  WE really do have the best job, being able to work in such lovely environments.  Emily has been living in the UK and this was part of Emily’s email to us just before she arrived.

What a stunning bridal party! Cherise and her girls looked incredible on 30th October and were looked after by our Wedding makeup artists Jacqueline and Sarah.

Cherise went against tradition and dressed all of her bridesmaids in white which gave such an ethereal feel to the gorgeous photos, courtesy of “Bush Turkey Photography”.

Jacqueline and Sarah used soft shades of pink and opalescent to match the softness of the dresses with peachy pink dewy cheeks and oh so kissable lips in barely there nude shade “Only You” Lipstick with “Pink Champagne” Lipgloss.

3 Helpful Tips When Planning Your Wedding Day Makeup:

#1. To ensure your skin is glowing and at it’s absolute best on your big day don’t forget to book a few facials in with your beauty therapist. Just make sure your last facial is booked at least 1 week prior to your wedding day to give your skin a chance to recover from any slight breakouts if you are having a deep cleansing facial.

#2. If you didn’t get as much sleep as you would have liked on the night before your Wedding day, cut 2 slices of cold cucumber and place them over your eyes for a few minutes while you put your feet up and relax. The other alternative to cucumber if your eyes are a bit puffy is green tea bags, simply dunk them in some ice cold water then place them over your eyes, the caffeine will help with any puffiness around the eyes.

#3. To keep your lipstick looking fabulous with minimum touch ups buy some straws to sip your drinks through while getting ready and use lipliner to fill in your lips before applying your lipstick for longer wear.

Q. How do I guarantee the reputation of the Wedding artists I’m booking?
A. Ask your friends, work colleagues, family for recommendations. Read Wedding forums and ask other reputable Wedding suppliers, eg your Photographer, Wedding venue etc. Also look at the Website for images of real brides. Q. Should you make an appointment to meet with the business for a consultation?
A. Sometimes it’s great to go and see the businesses environment, and learn more about the quality of products they use. Remember we all relate in different ways, some are more visual, feeling orientated or auditory. Powder Room offers complimentary 15 minute cupcake consultations in our new Farm studio by appointment.  We can chat about the look that your inspiration for the Wedding, whether it’s vintage, old fashioned romance or sophisticated elegance to name a few….

Q. Is the same artists that looks after you in the trial looking after you on the Wedding day?
A. An important question to ask because it’s great to be able to meet with the same stylist at your trial who will also be pampering you and your bridal party on your wedding day. At The Powder Room we always send out the same stylist to look after your wedding day hair and makeup as you met at your trial so that everything is just perfect for the big day!

Q. How much time is allowed for your Pre Wedding day hair and make up trial?
A. Your pre Wedding trial is one of the most important parts in the planning of your Wedding day hair and make up, and Powder Room trial are at our intimate Bridal studio based in New Farm, just 5 mins from the CBD.  On the Wedding day we provide a full mobile Wedding service and can come to your home or hotel.  We do also have an intimate bridal studio for those wishing to escape everyone.  Powder Room stylists allow double the time to that of the Wedding day, ie 1.5 hours for a make up trial and 2 hours for a hair trial. Q. What happens if your Wedding day look isn’t exactly what you had planned at the end of the trial, especially when you have paid a deposit to secure your artists?
A. For your peace of mind, The Powder Room offer a “Powder Room Promise”:

Beauty comes from within, and how you are looking after your health, effects your outside beauty.  We all want glowing flawless skin!  If you are looking at caring for yourself a little more in the lead up to Christmas and your Wedding day, Nardia Renney is the woman for you!  Quite a few of us at Powder Room visit Nardia, as she keeps us happy and healthy so we can look after so many beautiful brides!  Nardia is very real and makes your goals achievable is a human way!!  I love it, especially because I can negotiate with her, he he!!  Sharing is caring, and we wanted to share Nardia with you, love you Nardia!!  For a little snippet of who Nardia is, why not go along to her workshop!

Sarah,was the sweetest bride I think we have ever met, with the voice of a angel and she looked like an angel too!  Sarah visited the Powder Room a few times, as she also had her lovely Bridesmaid Angela book them in for a special Occasion make up prior to the Wedding.  Jody and Heidi really had the most amazing day with the girls  at The Stamford Plaza.  We always like going to visit Andy Chan, the Wedding co ordinator at the hotel, he is so helpful with our brides planning.

Sarah’s veil was a Mantilla veil, they traditionally have lace edges, they are also know as the Spanish mantilla, more oval shaped and worn at the top of the head, simply elegant!

It was so lovely to receive this lovely “Love Letter” from Sarah today on email.
