We just love Rachael’s English Rose Wedding day hair & make up

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Brisbane Wedding Beauty, Rachel Belonogov, nee Condon sent us this gorgeous photo of her Wedding day hair and make up with a love note of appreciation:)

We think Rachel’s choice of Wedding hairstyle a side swept style looked so fresh and elegant. Curly hairstyles are more popular than ever and this style is a perfect choice for the warm weather.  Rachel’s make up was that of an “English Rose”, flushed cheeks and a pretty pink pout, created using Powder Room’s own - lips with love “Miss Amour”.  The key is to look like you have just had your first kiss!

“To the Powder Room ladies,

This is just a quick email to thank you all for making my wedding day a spectacular day.  All the pampering and attention to detail made me feel truly beautiful.

I had endless compliments on how beautiful I looked… and I have The Powder Room to thank for that.

And the best bit was that my hair and makeup was flawless all day and night long! I couldn’t believe it (and neither could any of my bridesmaids).”

Soft braided hairstyles are the latest – feature in Discerning Bride magazine!

The 2010 copy of “Discerning Bride” magazine has hit the shelves!

We are so excited as we have a few features in the latest magazine, in news-agencies now!  The Powder Room artists should be doing the hair and make up for the Golden Globes!
Romance is reborn!
Powder Room is featured with the gorgeous braided upstyle, on our very own stylist and co- ordinator Sarah as the beautiful model.  We just love the softly braided upstyle that frames the face with little diamond bows, so feminine sexy and dishevelled.

Hair was styled by Jody and make up by Karen.

The Bridal magazine also features our very own signature “lips with Love” lipgloss “Spring Fling”, a sheer melon tone,  available online  at our Powder Room shop.

Featured in the magazine are two of our Real brides as well, Crystal Campbell Wedding 3/10/09 and Anna Rossette Wedding on the 13/6/09.

Photograph of Braided hairstyle was by Grapeshots Photography.

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Hello and Happy New Year Powder Room Brides, I’m so excited about 2010!  The year of all of your Weddings and we are so looking forward to spoiling you all with your Wedding day hair and make up!

It’s all about Dreaming and imagining your own most amazing Wedding day and we would love to be a part of your special day!

Our phones are going crazy and we are already turning away brides, although we’d love to look after you all!

Powder Room hair and make up artists only spoil one bridal party per Wedding day, so call early in the year to avoid disappointment.

By the way The new “Brisbane Bride” for 2010 is out and we have 6 pages of our beautiful new bridal hair and make up collection, check it out

Here is a sneak preview of one of our new images from the collection!

Fingerwave hairstyleI wanted to share with you a 2 minute visualisation, compliments of the gorgeous girls who wrote the book ” Like Chocolate for Women” to help you relax whilst planning for your big day.  Thoughts are powerful and provoke a physical response on the central nervous system.  Try it and see how you go!

Sit down, close your eyes and imagine yourself on a holiday – pick your favourite place.

Start to hear the sounds and smells of your holiday place; choose to believe you are there.  Stay there a while then come back.

Your body does not know what reality is; it only responds to what the mind is telling it.  It you are uptight and stressed the body will respond by shortening your breath, creating the ‘nervous butterfly feeling’ and teasing muscles.  However, if your mind thinks it is relaxing on a beach listening to the waves, you will slow your heart rate down, relax your muscles and release endorphins (otherwise known as pleasure hormones), making a dramatic change to your body in just 2 minutes.
